Shashi Warrier was born in 1959 and got a degree in economics from BITS, Pilani, in 1981. He started writing novels in 1994-95 after over a dozen years of working at other things, including consulting, business journalism, computer programming, project management, teaching, and a few other things he’d rather not discuss. He started with fairy tales, moved on to thrillers and then literary fiction, and intends to return to fairy tales sometime in the future. He likes Hindustani music, motorcycling, and yoga, and is learning to cook. He lives in Mangalore, Karnataka.
