My name is Madhumita Bhattacharyya. Madhu to most. If you have stumbled on this page, you have probably noticed by now that I am a serious eater. And also, traveler, serial Pride & Prejudice reader, cookery show junkie.
What you may not have discovered is that I am a journalist with The Telegraph newspaper, Calcutta, India, and editor, freelance for the most part.
Also, in a fit of masochism, I decided I would give permanent fodder for every self-doubting, fantasy-loving, procrastinating cell in my body — and become a novelist. It is the only dream I haven’t given up on at the first sign of trouble. And believe me, there have been many. For years, I have been an aspiring novelist, now I am an impending one.
It is a liberating sort of ambition to have, as since success is the exception here, there is no pressure at all!
